Delicious Homemade Maraschino Cherry are Easy!

Use a Candy Island Mold like #500 (Classic Maraschino Cherry), # 113 Cherry Blossom (large cherry designed for chopped pecans at the bottom) or #880 (Rose Cherry) then coat the mold with molding chocolate, put in freezer for 5 minutes. While that is setting mix 1/4 teaspoon of Cherry juice (from the jar) and 2 tablespoons of Fondant Powder until you get a thick liquid. Take the Maraschino cherry out of the freezer and put a 1/4 tsp of the fondant mixture in the bottom and small maraschino cherry. Now cover the cherry with chocolate making sure the edges are sealed. Place in freezer for at least 15 minutes. People will be amazed you made these yourself.

Variations: Coffee Cherries: Add a small amount of coffee instead of cherry juice to the fondant. Almond Cherries: Add a drop of oil flavouring to the cherry juice fondant /mixture.

Before getting started, use the bottle lid to pop a hole in the seal and give the bottle a good shake. Pigments pack a punch so take it slow when colouring, starting with just a few drops and mixing as you go. Tip: If you have time and for the best results, let your mixture sit overnight.
